Someone who is now remembered only as Anonymous speaks with words that cannot be better assembled. A smart writer when confronted with such words, does not attempt to transform those words to his or her own purposes. To you, my Anonymous source, my thanks for your words that follow:
Hope works in these ways: it looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst; it discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot; it regards problems, large or small, as opportunities; it pushes ahead when it would be easy to quit; it “lights the candle” instead of “cursing the darkness.” Anonymous

Seems to be OK so far
Thanks for the thoughtful quote! I truly believe it is all about attitude — problems are opportunities in most cases. Have a young man living here temporarily and he complained about the poor scheduling of workers and lack of communication. He wanted to file a “formal complaint”. This is silly, he just started the job. Employers don’t need employees who make waves. What they need are solutions! So, if he were to offer his suggestions to management on how to fix the scheduling problems or offer to take over the task himself – Wow! What an opportunity he has!
Thank you for your illustration about your work environment. You are right that attitude is always in our control and affects who we are and what we do. Blessings on your work.
