Before you read any other posts that predate this one, linger here. It will provide context for all the posts before this one. It is also the context in which all future posts will be written. The quote is from Joseph Addison, an English essayist, poet, and statesman. He lived from 1672-1719.
“Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.”
So my prayer/hope for you today, as we move from the season of summer to fall, is that you will completely give yourself to a task that frees up your passion and your determination and that provides you with unlimited energy and enthusiasm. Further my hope/prayer for you is that besides finding something to love, that you will find someone to love. Offer your love to that particular person who is looking for someone to know them for who they are, who will love them just as they are, and to whom you will commit to remain consistent in your care for them. Finally my prayer/hope is that you will not let discouragement or temporary setbacks keep you from hope. Stay focused on doing good, serving others, and listening to the voices of those who seek you out. You and I have much to learn and also much to teach.
I don’t believe I ever encountered a prayer that cleared my way against being discouragement. This feels truly important. Thank you.
Visit often. Thanks.
